Comfort & Support
We aim to offer comfort and support to diabetes patients, their family, loved ones and carers.

We do this by giving one-to-one advice to people with diabetes, their family, loved ones, and their carers on life after developing diabetes, by one or more of our volunteers who have already developed diabetes on:-

(i) encouraging them to make lifestyle changes.

(ii) advice on how to live and cope after developing diabetes

(iii) advice on how to better self manage their condition and reduce the risk of complications

(iv) where to get further advice on self care management

(v) signposting them on how to get support available from:-
      (a) our Group,
      (b) Diabetes UK,
      (c) The NHS,
      (d) Local NHS Courses and
      (e) Social Services etc.

This advice is available from volunteers at:-

  •        (a) in hospital wards doing ward visits
  •        (b) situated at our “helpdesks” or “stands
  •        (c) available at our self management talk meetings.
