Interaction with Diabetes UK
Diabetes UK’s Council For People Living With Diabetes (CPD) & Advisory Councils
The CPD is the governing body of Diabetes UK which also appoints Trustees.
In 2008 our Chairman David Cahill was elected by the members of the national Diabetes UK charity to represent them on the Council For People Living With Diabetes (CPD).
This election also entitles him to sit on:
- the United Kingdom Advisory Council (UKAC) &
- England Advisory Council.
In that capacity he attended the following Diabetes UK meetings:
- England Advisory Council, London, 31st October 2009
- Annual General Meeting, Birmingham, 26th September 2009
- UK Advisory Council conference, Birmingham, 26th & 27th September 2009
- Council For People Living With Diabetes, London, 9th May 2009
- England Advisory Council, London, 25th April 2009
Diabetes UK’s 75th Anniversary Conference on 28th Mar 2009
David Cahill attended the Conference at the Welcome Collection Conference Centre in London that set out initiatives planned for the 75th anniversary year.
Support from Diabetes UK.
We have had a great deal of support throughout the year from staff at Diabetes UK Head Office. We thank them all and particularly thank Roz Rosenblatt, Alexis Ferry and Liz Roe for their help and putting up with us. Without the help from them and their colleagues, we would have been a lot less effective.
