We have negotiated a reduced rate corporate membership at Gold’s Gym, 29-31 Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 1JA.
Tel 020-8572-1414.  The normal membership rate including use at peak times is £59 per month.  Our rate has been reduced to £39.  Our member’s minimum contract period will be only 6 months (normally 12 months).  Enrolment fees have been waived.  There is a fully equipped gym with the latest equipment, which includes the optional use of a computer key that records your individual exercise programmes and results (which can be downloaded to the mainframe computer), individual SKY TV on each exercise machine, some with individual fans, a full range of weight lifting machines, free weights, swimming pool, Jacuzzi spa bath, sauna and steam room.  There are free classes on Aqua Aerobics, yoga, pilates, spinning, aerobics etc.

The membership is also extended to include all Medical Staff including NHS staff, Hospital Staff, PCT staff, and those working for GPs, Clinics, Dentists, and Pharmacists in Hounslow.

X-Pert Diabetes Course

Hounslow PCT is now running the “X-Pert” Course. 

This is aimed to enable adults with Type 2 diabetes  to increase their self-management skills, knowledge and confidence in managing their diabetes.

It is a structured patient education programme run over 5 consecutive weekly sessions covering:

Ø       Understanding diabetes

Ø       Weight management and physical activity.

Ø       Carbohydrate awareness and food labels.

Ø       The supermarket tour.

Ø       Diabetic complications, Foot care and evaluation.

Aap Ki Sehat Aap Ke Haath Course

This is aimed at Punjabi and Hindi speaking adults with Type 2 diabetes to enable them to increase their self-management skills, knowledge and confidence in managing their diabetes.

It is a structured patient education programme run over 5 once weekly sessions adapted from the X-Pert Course but delivered in Punjabi & Hindi.

Sessions are run over 5 consecutive weeks and will cover the following topics:    

Ø       Understanding diabetes

Ø       Weight management and physical activity.

Ø       Carbohydrate awareness and food labels.

Ø       Diabetic complications, Foot care and evaluation

Ø       Medication and self-management skills.

Weigh To Lose

This is aimed to enable obese patients to lose weight and change their eating habits to eat more healthily.

You will be part of a weight management class & exercise group lasting for 8 weeks.

Expert Patient Programme Course

This is aimed to enable patients with a long term chronic condition like diabetes to better self-manage their condition.

You will be part of a course teaching self help skills lasting for 6 weeks and covers the following topics: 

Ø       How to manage your illness and symptoms;

Ø       The importance of nutrition and exercise;

Ø       Communicating with family and friends about your condition;

Ø       Dealing with fatigue and pain;

Ø       Learning how to get the most out of life and

Ø       Planning the future.

The programme will encourage people to live with their chronic illness and to use the skills and knowledge they already have to improve the quality of life.

Lifestyle Project

The Lifestyle Project is a partnership health initiative involving Hounslow Primary Care Trust and CIP, the Leisure Service providers and involves the following:

- Exercise on Prescription,

- Lifestyle Management course, and  

- Cardiac Rehab Phase 1V

Exercise on Prescription

This is aimed to teach you how use gym equipment and to exercise correctly.  To provide a routine of regular exercise.  This will result in improving cardio vascular and musco skeletal fitness, to help circulation, reduce blood glucose levels and assist in losing weight.

You will get supervised exercises in a gym on a one to one basis with an instructor over an 8 week period, followed by a further 8 weeks of independent exercise

Lifestyle Management

This is aimed to improve your health, not only physically but also psychologically and socially.

You will be part of a lifestyle management class (which involves stress management techniques, weight management, nutrition, relaxation, motivation, exercise theory smoking cessation & alcohol consumption) & an exercise group over an 8 week period.

Cardiac Rehab Stage IV

This is designed for any adult who has had heart disease.

This is aimed to aid recovery from cardiovascular disease and help return to a normal life.

You will get supervised exercises in a studio or gym with an instructor.
