Lifestyle Roadshows

Lifestyle road shows are organised by the Lifestyle Team from West Middlesex University Hospital.
The Team is led by Dr Fink (Chemical Pathologist) and Celia Cloughly (Lifestyle Nurse). 

We are pleased to announce that the team is now supported by:-

           Hounslow Primary Care Trust PCT, The Public Health Team (Jointly funded by LB Hounslow & Hounslow PCT), the

           Metropolitan Police and the Voluntary Sector (Diabetes UK Hounslow Voluntary Group & Upbeat Heart Support Group) 

During 2008 it is hoped that there will be 10 Lifestyle road shows. We will visit schools and places of worship.

During a typical road show there will be

• - Free assessment of cardiac risk by:-

• - Checking of  weight and height to give BMI Body Mass Index,

• - Checking of blood pressure

• - Checking of Cholesterol levels

• - Free screening for diabetes by checking of blood glucose levels

There will be stands from:

• Diabetes UK Hounslow Voluntary Group on diabetes awareness, prevention and patient support

• Upbeat Heart Support Group on heart disease awareness

• Public Health Team (on healthy living)

• Smoking Cessation Team

• Tuberculosis (TB)

• Hounslow PCT Dieticians (nutrition & healthy diet)

• The Lifestyle Team (exercise and fitness)

• Oral Health

• Metropolitan Police Anti drugs Team

We believe that we are the only Borough to have achieved this linked up approach to supporting healthy lifestyles
